Cybelle's (20 Mar)

Decent at best. Greasy, no real flavor. Better off eating the cardboard it is served in. Would only eat here is wicked drunk and starving!

This location is quite new - wrote this review 3/19/08 - and it is large. It's right near my office, which is nice. They have a huge selection of styles / toppings. You can also get sandwiches, salads, etc. I like it here, but wouldn;t take someone from out of town here
Blondie's Pizza (20 Mar)
  • Currently 3.0/5 Stars.
Blondie's is a San Francisco staple. They have thick slices and usually eat to go, although they do have a large seating area - and another restaurant / stand - downstairs. Most people get a slice to go and eat right outside or walking to the next stop / shop. This place does have a ton of tourists though as it is in the shopping district and right next to the cable car turn around.

They have decent pizza. The place is large and quite comfortable. I'm not a big fan of Amici's, but the atmosphere here is decent.
Ray's Pizza (20 Mar)
  • Currently 5.0/5 Stars.
Awesome pizza! Simple, thin and delicious. Highly recommend. Lots of seating and good selection of drinks. The place has an eclectic mix of people - but hey, it's in Manhattan/Little Italy.
Za Pizza (20 Mar)
  • Currently 3.0/5 Stars.
I like Za Pizza. I was convenient as I used to live a few blocks from it; great for grabbing a couple slices and a beer. You have a few options for seating: at the counter (my style), at the tables, or sit outside at a small table for 2. Small, but good beer selection. Thin crust pizza, not a ton of flavor, but Big slices. Great service too.

Great deep dish pizza! Great service and cool atmosphere. This old brick building used to be a brothel. The pizza is served on a pizza stand and the pizza is THICK! I usually go for thin crust, but there are a few deep dish pizzas I love - Old Chicago Pizza is one of them. Highly recommend Old Chicago Pizza and then maybe a few pints at a fun bar - McNear's Pub right next door.
Cable Car Pizza (14 Mar)
  • Currently 1.0/5 Stars.
This place sucks! The only reason people go here is because they just stumbled out of the strip clubs and are starving. The owner of this shop should be taken out to the back alley and shot!

Good thin crust pizza. I wouldn't compare it to NYC pizza, but it holds it's own in San Francisco / California. Great location as right in the heart of the Haight. Good for grabbing a slice and walking around or eating on the side walk.
Golden Boy Pizza (27 Feb)
  • Currently 5.0/5 Stars.
One of my favorite places! I normally do not like thick crust, but this place serves their pizza on focaccia bread. Bar seating only. Packed on weekends - lines out the door. But they do have a window where you can order to go. Great beer selection (Prohibition, Red Tail, Red Nectar.) and the service is great - they love hard core music.
