Ehhh what do you expect a Chilis and pizza there at that. Chewy crust bur decent cheese. Would ever recco this but hey if yours stranded....
Had a lot of fun here. Coal woos burning oven. Great think pizzas. Good sauce and crust. Lacked some flavor but it was good. One of the nicer places in Santa Rosa
Like a lot, not loved. The place is cool and a landmark. Great to sit outside with a group. The pizza is gourmet thin crust. The crust was awesome, but the toppings could have been better, good price for what you get. I would def come back with friends. Great house (Coppola) wine too!
I've heard so much hype about this place that it was hard to walk in without feeling like this better be the best pizza ever. I mean Obama was turned away as he didn't have reservations. We got there on a Sunday at 5:20pm...it doesn;t even open until 5:30...but there was still a line waiting 15 people deep. Tables are limited and reservations even more so. We got 3 pizzas: First the Salsiccia. WOW! This one was just amazing. The crust is sooo good. Perfectly cooked. The sauce was amazing and there was an oil or something on this pizza that was just incredible. It was my favorite of the 3. Next we for the Funghi pizza. This was also incredible. The mushrooms were fantasic and the sauce again and the crust were outstanding. Last was the classic...the Margherita. This one was the least impressive (although I usually use as my deciding factor on how good the pizza is). I think it was just sitting out longer than the others. Long story short - this place rules! I highly suggest coming here with a small group. Tables and space is ezxtremely limited and you will almost undoubtly be waiting...but well worth the wait.
Loved it! Maybe one of the best gourmet pizza places in NY. It's small, so tables are crowded. But the apps and pizza make up for it. Pizza is realm thin crust with sauce and cheese spread out like it should be. The sauce is what's makes this pizza. I kept mine plan, but there are a lot of toppings options.
I knew the place would rule, but I was seriously shocked at just how good the pizza was. We got the 4 cheese pizza and meatballs, but it took a while to decide becuase all the options looked awesome. Thin crust, cooked to perfection. The cheese, melts in your mouth (and not cause it scaulding hot), and the sauce, my god man the sauce!!!! This might be my favorite pizza joint in San Francisco. The beer / tap selection is limited, but what choices they have are great. they also have wine on tap! And great wine. Love this place and will recco it to everyone I know. My only complaint...a ton of kids were there. Might be the fact that we went at 6:15pm, might be the fact that it was in Pac Heights...but the screaming kids was the only negative about this place.
I had really high hopes of Portico - I've heard great things about the place and now my office is right next door. Huge place - lots of tables, great lighting and more of a cafateria style place than anything. There is a great salad bar, sando options and of course - pizza. The slices are huge - you can have 1 slice and should be good unless you are starving. I got the BBQ chicken slcie. Good crust, but a little dry. The toppings were good - not great. There is a large selection of toppings (ready made slices). This is a great place to go if rushed on time and want a slice to go. If you want to sit down and check out the other food here - I would definetly suggest trying one of their sandwiches - large selection and delicious. I will def go back here for pizza, but only when in a rush or just want to grab a slice for on the go.
Despite being right at the corner of bridge and tunnel central (Broadway and Columbus) the pizza wasn't half bad. I was expecting it to be waaay worse. A little doughy, but great crust and the sauce was good and toppings were very fresh. Huge space inside - great place to grab a slice on the way out or when in North Beach
We didn't come to Plant to get pizza, but instead, just a couple mid day refreshments. But after sitting down and seeing the menu of what looked like great pizza's, we couldn't resist. Also, staring right at you when you're sitting at the bar is a large, beautiful wood burning pizza oven. We decided on the BBQ chicken sausage pizza. Great, thin crust. The sauce and crust made for the perfect mid day meal. The sausage was amazing and was way more than I expected (flavor wise). I look forward to coming back and trying another one of their amazing pizza selections.
Desperately hungry after seeing a show at the Paramount, we wondered the streets of Oakland in hopes of finding a quick slice. Long behold, down some dark streets we run into a lone, open pizza joint. The place is empty and the 2 owners are behind the counter watching some asian TV show. The smell hits you instantly - ahh, sweet mop water. No matter, we are starving. We find out they only have 2 slices left and there are 4 of us. We get the only 2 cheese slices and surprisingly, not horrible. Large slices, a little doughy, and the cheese and sauce are mediocre. I would never go back, unless under the same circumstances - Starving!
