Tom Ferguson has rated 165 pizzas:
Jersey Pizza is brought to you from the same peeps that brought you the great Salt House, Town Hall and Salt House. Seems like they are making a play for all the great real estate in SOMA...cause all of their restaurants are within 3 blocks of each other. Lucky for me, Jersey Pizza is right across the street from my office...so think I'll be a regular here soon enough. They just opened last Tuesday so I'm sure still working out the kinks.
I ordered the marinated baby beet salad for a starter - was awesome! Got a fresh squeezed lemonade as a drink and got the California Style margherita pizza as my main. The lemonade was sooo good, I normally don't order any drinks other than water and/or beer...but was at lunch and the lemonade looked good....and it was! The pizza to be honest was the thing I liked the least. Don't get me wrong, I thought the pizza was great, but the crust was a little doughy for the style pizza. The sauce was amazing and a really generous sized pizza. I couldn't finish my pizza, which I normally do...I think the thicker, doughier crust is the reason for not finishing the last 2 slices.
I will definitely be coming back as I know they are brand new...might need some time to work things out. The beer list was HUGE and amazing - lots a great IPA's. The atmosphere was really cool as well...this is where Toaster Oven Sandwiches used to be...so I think they did a great job of converting the place.
PS - I heard form 2 other people that were there - the meatball sandwich is AMAZING!!!!!!
Have been wanting to go here for some time, as Avellino is a favorite pizza place of a couple friends. So finally went and was very happy to see it lived up to the hype. Amazing (HUGE) NY style slices. Got 2 slices of cheese, which normally is perfect for me...but I had to throw in the towel half way threw my second giant slice. Cheese was perfect as was the crust. The 2nd slice actually tasted better as had a few minutes to sit...which made a big difference. Note to patrons: they do not serve any drinks here at all - just water. But a liquor store is literally right next door and Avellino's has outdoor and indoor seating...both of which you are welcome to buy beer or drinks next door and eat at restaurant. Will def be coming back here. My new fav slice in the city!
ehhhh...I stopped here on way to SliceFinder meeting...I knew I wasn't going to get an amazing slice, but was hoping for more. The cheese was decent at best, too much of it. The crust was decent as well. Flavor = ok. But it was cheap and fast.
We stopped in here from advice of Greg R (pizza connoisseur). When we walked in, we saw a slice for another patron and didn't expect much as it didn't look awesome. We were however, pleasantly surprised. The slice were huge and thick. I got 2 slice of the pepperoni, while Allyson got a slice of the ham and pineapple. The crust didn't look awesome, but was thick and cooked to perfection. Good sauce and the cheese was good - could be better - hence the 3 stars. But overall the experience was solid. There is lots of seating and clean tables and restaurant. They have a very large selection of pizza's, sandwiches and salads. The however, do not serve any beer or alcohol...def a negative. I would come back and eager to try their sandwiches.
In Vegas = 3 days...went to Five50 Pizza Bar = 2 times. It was that good. Despite my main squeezes objection to going back to Five50 (in the same day / night mind you) for our pizza fix, we both loved it. They craft all kinds of pizza, with amazing topping combo's. Great mix of flavors. We got the Forager pizza and the Gotham pizza. Both wildly different from each other, but both had amazing flavors and fresh toppings. Cheese and sauce were cooked to perfection. Great atmosphere (but remember, it is in a casino) and one of the few places on the Vegas strip that serves craft beers. So that is also a huge bonus. We loved it and are looking forward to our next gambling, drinking, pizza binge and will definitely be stopping by Five50 next time to try the other pizza's there.
Secret Pizza does live up to its name as it is tucked away on the 2nd floor of The Cosmopolitan down some random corridors. Small place with only 2 tables...most people just grab slices and roll back out to the casino. Solid slices, especially for being in a casino. Really good sauce and cheese. The crust was perfectly cooked. And for being in The Cosmo, where EVERYTHING is crazy expensive, Secret Pizza allows some reprieve from the money spending madness, where you can get a great slice for $3.50...oh and you can drink there and closes at 4am...drink as much as you want...cause, it's in a casino...DNG DING DING DING DING......
This is a solid pizza. Great crust, good sauce and cheese. If you order salads, they send mason jars (we had large salads) full of their dressing. They make an amazing spicy Russian dressing...great for dipping pizza in as well. Highly recommend this place if looking for solid, large slices or pies.
Not a bad slice shop in the Tenderloin. All things considered, was pleasantly surprised with the pizza. Good sauce and crust. Really cheap and fast. Wouldn't come here for dinner, but a nice option if out in the TL and want a quick slice
Wow! We came here over the weekend after a great hike. Small, quaint pizza place. Only a few seats inside, but there are a lot of seats outside on the deck. We got the margherita and LOVED it. Crust cooked to perfection. Sauce was perfect and the toppings were fresh (fresh mozz and basil) as can be. Highly recommend if in Marin. Looking forward to trying the other pizza's as they have a lot of great choices.
Decent at best. Came here for beers and got a cheese pizza. I've had WAY better. But what can you expect? A bar right across from Giants Stadium. The bar is cool with a great tap selection...but the pizza leaves something to be desired. Small pie's, crust was over cooked and sauce was decent. The census here: stick with the beer and get food elsewhere.
