Patsys is not a slice shop - it's sit down dinner type of pizza. They have good salads and their pizza is crispy and thin. It's a good staple...
I've been to both locations and beware of the one in the Marina after 11pm. It's like a bar in itself. However, I do like their pizza and their delivery service is good.
It's like Little Star but without the atmosphere. It's good, but no Little Star.
My first time eating Golden Boy, I was hungry & trashed. Hungry and trashed to the point that a piece of cardboard with sauce on it would have been appetizing to me. However, all they had left was clam pizza. Who the fuck eats clams on their pizza?? I decided it would be better than nothing and took one bite and gave it to the homeless guy on the street.
Flash 3 years later. I was hungry and trashed AGAIN and ordered a normal cheese pizza. They have sort of sicilian style pizza only. Not quite the NY sicilian slice I yearn for from growing up there, but it was good. Nothing great...but good. You be the judge.
Little Star is a little slice of heaven. It's like an upscale pizza place and can feel like a bar at night - very dark, loud music...in a good way of course. They have great selection of beers (Racer 5!) and wines. Now to the food...the large salads are huge and good for sharing. I love the "Classic" thin crust pizza. To be honest, I always get that so I can't really say what other thin crusts are good. I do get the Mediterranean thick crust - it's SO good, and I normally hate thick crust. It's not like NY sicilian pizza - it's more like Chicago style - very heavy with sauce on top. It's definitely delish. Overall, good place for any occassion.
This is by far the best pizza in Tucson and is the reason I gained the freshman 15. BBQ Chicken pizza is great and so is the potato - who knew? Great place for hanging out.
